Instructions:

Drain the cherries through a sieve, use the juice elsewhere.

For the glaze, heat crème fraîche, butter and sugar in a saucepan and stir until smooth. Allow the glaze to cool. The almond flakes will be needed later.

Preheat the oven to 200 °C (convection oven) and grease and lightly flour a cake springform pan (26 cm ø).

Mix the dough ingredients except for the cherries in a large baking bowl to a liquid dough. Pour the batter into the cake springform pan, spread the cherries evenly on top and pre-bake the cake for twelve minutes. Later, pour the glaze over the cake, sprinkle the flaked almonds on top and finish baking the cherry cake for about 20 minutes.

After cooling, divide the cake into pieces, put a dollop of crème fraîche on each piece and a cherry on top.
