For poached pears, peel the pears first. The stem should not be removed. Place the sugar, cinnamon sticks, orange zest, cloves and rosé wine in a saucepan.

Heat carefully until the sugar has dissolved. Now place the pears in the liquid and bring to a simmer. Close the lid and simmer for 20 minutes.

If you want to serve the poached pears cold, you should let them cool in the liquid and refrigerate until ready to eat.

If serving warm, keep the pears warm in the liquid until ready to serve.
