For the magrons, peel the potatoes and cut into small cubes. Put on plenty of water with the lid closed. Add the pasta and potatoes and cook until al dente according to the instructions on the pasta package. Preheat the oven to 150 degrees.

Grate the cheese with a cheese grater. Butter an ovenproof dish. Drain the pasta mixture and drain well. Spread evenly in layers with the cheese in the dish. Bring the cream and milk to the boil and pour over the top. Place in the center of the hot oven and let stand for about ten minutes until the cheese is melted but not browned.

In the meantime, cut the onions into 2 mm thick rings and chop the garlic. Sprinkle with flour and fry in the clarified butter until golden, turning. Drain on kitchen roll. Spread evenly over the magrons.

Tip: Instead of clarified butter, you can also use butter in most cases.
