Instructions:

Quickly prepare sugar, flour, vanilla sugar, bitter almond flavoring, rum flavoring, cardamom, butter, salt and ground walnuts into a smooth dough. Chill dough for one night with lid closed.

Divide dough into two parts. Roll out one half on floured work surface to about

1 cm thick and cut out about 35 circles (diameter 4 cm). Place the circles on 2 trays lined with parchment paper, spacing them apart.

Bake in a heated oven (electric oven: 200 °C gas: level 3) for about 10 minutes. Cool down.

Repeat the process with the second half. Roll out marzipan thinly between cling film, cut out about 70 circles the size of the finished cookies.

In the meantime, heat chocolate glaze in a hot water bath. Spread a thick layer of currant jelly on the top of the cookies, place a marzipan on top and press down gently. Pour glaze into a small baking bowl. Dip the marzipan side of the “house friends” into the chocolate glaze and decorate with a walnut half. Drying.

Preparation about 1 1/2 hours (without baking time).

Waiting time 8 hours

Tip: Feel free to use better chocolate – the more delicious the result will taste!
