A simple but delicious cake recipe:
Heat honey in a saucepan. Stir until it becomes liquid. Later cool slightly. Stir occasionally to prevent a skin from forming.
Beat eggs with powdered sugar in a baking bowl until creamy. Mix flour with baking soda, put in a large enough bowl and press a bulge in the center. Pour in the honey, the beaten egg mixture and the remaining ingredients. Knead everything into a soft dough.
Grease a loaf pan (30 x 11 cm), dust with flour and put the dough in it. Put it in the heated oven on the middle shelf. Bake for approx. one hour at 180 °C (gas: level 2 or just under one-third flame).
Honey cake tastes best after a few days of airtight storage, because then the aroma of honey is properly absorbed.
