Cook potato wuerfeli and Hörnli together in plenty of salted water (Note: Depending on the cooking time of the Hörnli, add the potatoes to the boiling water beforehand!). Pour into a sieve and drain. Fill in layers with the grated cheese in a buttered, wide casserole dish. Finish with grated cheese. Mix the ingredients for the glaze and pour over the top. Bake in oven heated to 220 degrees until cheese begins to melt. Take out and serve with apple puree or apple pieces, if desired.
