Boil the milk with the salt, add the pasta and cook until soft, stirring frequently. The pasta will absorb most of the milk.

Pour the whole contents of the pan into a buttered ovenproof dish. Sprinkle the grated cheese in between. Put the pan in the oven heated to 180°C for about 10 minutes so that the cheese melts nicely.

In the meantime, remove the peel from the onions and garlic and cut them into rings or slices and roast them in the hot butter. Spread evenly over the finished dish.

Offer with it cooked apple pieces.

If you like, mix 2-3 peeled and diced potatoes cooked the day before into the cooked Hörnli.
