Instructions:

A great cake recipe for any occasion:

Keep butter or light butter soft. Melt the salt in the water and mix all ingredients together. Knead into a smooth dough in 3-5 min. Shape dough into a brick-like piece. Place on the floured baking board, sprinkle with flour and roll out with the rolling pin to a rectangular dough sheet, 1cm thick. Fold dough four times, roll out repeatedly, and fold four times repeatedly.

Next, roll out dough into a long strip 30cm wide and 1/2 cm thick and place on a baking sheet coated with water.

Rinse apples, remove peel, remove core, cut into pieces. Cover the middle part of the dough with them.

Rinse and drain the raisins, spread them evenly on the apples. Sprinkle with the sugar.

Using a kitchen knife or possibly a cake wheel, cut the edges of the dough into ‘ribbons’. To cover the filling, alternate placing a ‘ribbon’ from each side slightly diagonally crosswise over the center.

Brush the surface with beaten egg and bake the cake for 30 to 40 min. at 230 °C to 240 °C.
