Instructions:

Boil barley in about 2 liters of water with a piece of butter until creamy, stirring frequently. Cool the cooked barley and rinse it. Put meat in about 2 liters of water, after 1.5 hours add potato slices and chopped root vegetables and cook until done. Finally fold in the rolled barley, season with pepper & salt.
