A simple but delicious cake recipe:

Soak barley in cold water for at least half a day.

Pour away the rolled barley water. Drain. Steam the vegetables, onions and parsley in a little peanut oil until soft. Add pearl barley and steam briefly. Deglaze with white wine and vegetable stock. Make on low fire, stirring frequently. The liquid should be completely absorbed by the cooked food. Cool the barley.

Mix eggs and cream, add half of cheese and mix with barley. Coat baking tray with oil, pour barley mixture into it and smooth it out. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top and bake in the oven heated to 200 °C for 12 to 15 minutes.

Serve with a sauce, e.g. parsley sauce.
