Try this delicious cake recipe:

Yields about 100 pieces Gently heat butter, sugar and beet syrup in a saucepan. Fold in almond kernels, cinnamon and cloves and cool the mixture. Melt the potash in a tablespoon of warm water and fold in. Add both flours and knead everything together with the dough hooks of the mixer until smooth. Cover and let stand at room temperature for one night.

Knead the dough again with your hands. If the dough is very crumbly, add perhaps one to two tablespoons of cold water. Roll out the dough on a little flour or between plastic wrap to a thickness of about 2 mm and cut out 3 x 5 cm rectangles with a cake wheel.

Place the cookies on trays lined with parchment paper and bake in a heated oven at 200 degrees Celsius, convection oven at 170 degrees Celsius, gas mark 3 for about eight minutes. Cool on a cooling rack. Nutritional values : Per piece approx. 25 calories, 1 g fat.
