For the burgers, peel and finely dice the onions, mix with the mince and season heartily with Worcester sauce, salt and pepper. Form four flat meatballs from the mixture. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the meatballs in it, then fry on a low flame for a few minutes, turning once to the other side. Just before the meat is cooked, put a slice of cheese on each and let it melt.

In the meantime, rinse the lettuce and spin dry. Rinse and dry the tomatoes, remove the green stem and cut into slices.

Cut the hamburger buns in half and toast each with the cut side up under the oven grill or in the toaster oven until crispy.

Then top all halves with lettuce, place a meat patty on each, add ketchup and place the top half of the hamburger buns on top.

Bring the burgers to the table immediately.
