For the cherry-almond-chocolate muffins, grease the muffin tin. Beat eggs with butter, sugar and vanilla sugar until foamy. Mix flour with baking powder and cinnamon, stir carefully into the egg mixture.

Fold almonds, chocolate shavings and cherries (save 12 pieces) into the batter. Fill the muffins 2/3 full and bake at 180°C convection oven for about 20 to 25 minutes. Let the muffins cool down.

Melt the chocolate in a water bath and stir in the butter. Dip the tops of the cold muffins into the chocolate and place a cherry on each muffin.
