For the chocolate heart cake, beat soft butter, half of the sugar, vanilla sugar and yolks until fluffy. Beat egg whites and the rest of the sugar until stiff.

Mix flour and baking powder and add to yolk mixture. Add the eggnog and melted chocolate to the batter and gently fold in the beaten egg whites.

Pour the dough into a greased and rolled-out heart-shaped pan and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C / hot air for 50-55 minutes. Cut out some hearts from paper.

Spread the hearts on the cooled cake and sprinkle the powdered sugar over them with a sieve.

Carefully lift the heart stencils from the cake and serve the chocolate heart cake.
