For the chocolate muffins, preheat the oven to 180 °C. Grease the muffin tray. Scrape the pulp out of the vanilla pod. Break the chocolate into pieces and melt and mix with the butter in a water bath.

Mix the flour with baking powder. Beat the sugar with salt, eggs and vanilla pulp until creamy. Add flour mixture and stir until all ingredients are moistened.

Stir in chocolate butter. Pour batter evenly into the wells of the muffin pan and bake on the middle rack for about 20 minutes.

Let the chocolate muffins rest in the pan for another 5 minutes or so, then lift them out and serve garnished with chocolate glaze.
