A simple but delicious cake recipe:

A fruit cake that, prepared with Ticino grapes, tastes exceptionally delicious.

(*) For a round baking tray of 27 cm ø Sift the flour in a large enough bowl. Cut off the butter, add it with the egg and a little bit of salt to the flour form. Mix everything with your fingers and quickly add the water to make a smooth dough. Shape into a ball, wrap in a dish and rest at room temperature for at least 120 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 220 °C. Butter the baking tray. Roll out the dough to a thickness of 3 mm and spread it on the baking tray. Sprinkle the dough base with the amaretti crumbs. Mix the grapes with half of the sugar and spread evenly.

Bake the cake at 220 °C for ten minutes.

Sprinkle with the remaining sugar. Reduce the oven temperature to 180 °C and bake the cake for another twenty minutes. Cover if necessary.

Cut out a circle of about 20 cm diameter from parchment paper or aluminum foil. Place it on the cooled cake and sprinkle the free edge with powdered sugar.

Tip: This cake can also be made with apricots or plums.
