Instructions:

A great cake recipe for any occasion:

1) Stir together milk, 200 ml lukewarm water, yeast and sugar. Place flour in a suitable bowl and press a large indentation in the center. Pour in yeast milk and stir through with a little bit of flour to form a steam. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 10 minutes. Knead all together and rise repeatedly about 20 min.

2) Roll out butter into a square (about 20 X 20 cm). Roll out dough into a larger square (approx. 40 X 40 cm). Place butter in the center, overlap the dough and roll out into a narrow rectangle. Exactly in three layers on top of each other and put dough approx. 20 min to cool. Roll out again and fold over each other. Repeat the process 2 more times. Leave the puff pastry to cool for approx. 20 min.

3) Mix marzipan and egg until smooth. Roll out 2 rectangles (about 20 x 40 cm), cut 5 strips (about 1/2 cm each) from the short sides. Place rectangles on 2 baking sheets lined with parchment paper.

4) Rinse and dry the raisins. Form with marzipan and apple compote in each center. Place strips of dough on top. Roll up edges a little.

5) Bake the strips one after the other in the hot oven (electric oven 175 degrees / convection oven 150 degrees / gas, level 2)for about 30 minutes each. Cool.

6) Mix powdered sugar and 1-2 tbsp. lukewarm water. Decorate the puff pastry strips with icing and nuts.
