Instructions:

Beat the fat and sugar until thick and creamy. Add eggs, salt and lemon zest.

Add whipped cream, flour, cognac and water, stir until smooth. Rinse apples, remove peel, core, cut into rings. Dip apple rings into the batter, drain. Fry in portions in hot oil for about 5 minutes.

Drain on kitchen roll. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.

Serve with a creamy wine sauce.

Decorate with mint if desired.
