For the exquisite chocolate cake, cream the soft butter with powdered sugar, vanilla sugar and yolks, stir in softened chocolate, nuts and flour with baking powder and fold in firm beaten egg whites.

Place in the oven at medium temperature (approx. 180 °C) for approx. 40 minutes (check with a pin whether the cake is baked through on the inside).

After the cake has cooled, sprinkle with powdered sugar or glaze with chocolate.
