For the fruit dumplings, mix the eggs with the curd cheese, butter, flour, sugar, rum and a pinch of salt.

Chill in a cool place. Meanwhile, prepare the fruit (wash, seed if desired). Divide the curd dough into equal sized pieces. Bring a large pot of water to a boil.

Now take one piece of the dough at a time and press it into a flat round circle in the palm of your hand. Place the piece of fruit in the center and roll into a dumpling with the remaining dough so that the piece of fruit is completely enclosed in curd dough.

Carefully place the dumplings in the lightly boiling water and simmer for about 10 minutes until the dumplings are cooked and rise to the surface of the water.

If necessary, do a dumpling test! In the meantime, melt the butter in a pan. Mix the breadcrumbs with the sugar and cinnamon and toast them briefly in the butter.

After the fruit dumplings are cooked, toss them briefly in the breadcrumbs. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve immediately hot.
