Gratinated Goat Cheese with Relish of Pears and Apples

Instructions:

Peel the pears and apples and cut them into small cubes. Put them in a saucepan with sugar, mustard, ginger, apple cider vinegar, lemon zest, cayenne pepper and crushed peppercorns and make until the relish has a creamy consistency.

Cut the goat cheese into slices. Grease a casserole or possibly baking dish with olive oil and pour in the goat cheese.

Sauté the diced onion and garlic in a frying pan with olive oil, stir in the chopped culinary herbs and season well with salt and freshly ground pepper. Spread this mixture evenly over the cheese slices. Sprinkle the bread crumbs and a few flakes of butter on top and gratinate briefly under the grill coil.

Arrange the cheese and add the lukewarm relish.

Our tip: As an alternative to fresh herbs, you can also use frozen ones – these also stand out for their fresh taste!
