Ja! Natürlich organic dish lentils rinse cold and soak with plenty of water for about 12 hours (dispose of water afterwards). This makes them easier to digest and also cooks them faster.

Finely chop Ja! Natürlich organic ginger and Ja! Naturally organic vegetables into bite-sized pieces.

Heat coconut oil in a large saucepan and fry all the coarse spices over a gentle heat for 2 minutes, stirring constantly so that the flavors develop (they should dance in the pan).

Add Ja! Natürlich organic rice and Ja! Natürlich Organic Plate Lentils and stir so that the spices mix well with the rice and Ja! Naturally Organic Plate Lentils can mix well. Add 1 quart of water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and put a lid on the pot.

Add chopped Ja! Natürlich organic vegetables (if you have vegetables that cook very quickly (e.g. peas) it is best to cook them only briefly later), salt and turmeric. Simmer on low heat for about 40 minutes, stirring frequently and seasoning with the remaining spices just before serving.
