Instructions:

Prepare a dampfl. Put the flour in a large bowl, make a small depression with your fist and add the crumbled yeast. Heat the milk until it is lukewarm and add it to the well. Mix the milk with the yeast and some flour. Dust with a little flour and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.

In the meantime, melt the butter and mix it with the yolks, sugar, vanilla sugar and salt. Add the zest of an untreated lemon.

Add the butter mixture to the dampfl and knead everything into a smooth dough. Cover the dough with a tea towel and let it rise in a warm place for another 30 minutes.

Divide the yeast dough into 2 parts. Set aside a small piece of yeast dough from each part for the head of the Krampus. Divide the remaining pieces of each ball into 3 equal parts and roll each part into a long string.

Now weave the body of the Krampus from 3 strings. Leave the beginning and end of the braid open as you do this. Pull the open parts of the beginning to the side and twist them in (they form the hands of the Krampus). Cut off the middle part a little bit, now the formed head of the Krampus is put on it. At the lower open end, twist in the two outer strands a little, they form the feet of the Krampus. Cut off the 3rd strand and knead it so that the cut is not visible.

Place the two resulting Krampus on a baking paper lined bac
