For the marzipan-almond stars, cream the butter with sugar and vanilla sugar, sift flour with baking powder and stir in alternately with the almonds and milk.

Chill the dough for an hour, preheat the oven to 180 °C, cut out stars and bake for about 10 minutes.

Knead marzipan paste with powdered sugar and roll out on powdered sugar to the same thickness as the almond stars, cut out stars of the same size and stick with currant jelly on the cooled almond stars.

Mix powdered sugar with lemon juice to a smooth glaze (be careful not to stir in too much air), spread on the stars.
