Try this delicious cake recipe:

Place egg whites, sugar, marzipan paste, lemon zest and bitter almond flavoring in a large enough bowl. Knead together with dough hook of hand mixer until smooth.

Form small rolls (approx. 7cm long) with moistened hands, roll in almond flakes and shape into croissants.

Place marzipan croissants on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake in a heated oven (175 °C) on the middle shelf for about 15 minutes.

Mix powdered sugar and vanilla sugar.

Place the baked croissants on a cake rack and dust with the sugar mixture. Cool.
