Preheat the oven to full temperature. Beat the egg whites with a little bit of sugar until they are stiff.

In a shallow dish (porcelain) place the slices of sand cake evenly against each other, pour a little Grand Marnier. Turn the block of ice cream onto the pieces of sand cake and brush with the egg white so that the ice cream is completely covered.

Place the “iceberg” in the oven for about 3 minutes, until the whipped cream is lightly browned. Remove and garnish with e.g. raspberries.
