Instructions:

Cut bread into slices and soak in cold water for 5 min. Squeeze well and crumble into a suitable bowl. Cut onions into fine rings. Chop garlic finely. Cut tomatoes into eighths. Pluck basil leaves. Fold everything into the bread.

Mix pepper, salt, vinegar and olive oil. Mix with the lettuce and let sit for 15 minutes. Season again.
