For the poppy seed tents, peel the cooked potatoes and press them through the potato press. Peel the raw potatoes, grate them finely and press them through a potato press – the potatoes should be almost dry. Knead all ingredients for the casing into a dough, form the dough into a roll.

For the filling, melt butter in a saucepan. Add cream, sugar, vanilla sugar and rum and stir briefly. Remove from heat, let cool slightly and add the poppy seeds. Form balls from the mixture.

Cut pieces from the dough roll and flatten. Place a poppy seed ball on each slice, enclose with the dough and shape into balls. Flatten slightly with the palm of your hand.

Butter a baking sheet and place the poppy seed tents on it. Brush the tents with beaten egg and prick them a few times with the tines of a fork.

Bake the poppy seed tents in the preheated oven at 200 °C until golden brown.
