A simple but delicious cake recipe:

Cut the old ribs and the onions into small cubes and brown them lightly in the butter. Together with the eggs, milk and perhaps the old breadcrumbs, prepare a firm bread dumpling dough. Season dough with salt and season with pepper.

In a relatively large and high saucepan, lightly sauté the chopped onion in the fat. On top of it, with a little pepper and salt, add the picked sauerkraut, the grated apple, the juniper berries and the bay leaves. Deglaze the whole thing with grained clear soup and white wine.

Let everything boil at a low temperature. Immediately put on the sausage, smoked pork or Surhaxn. On top of the meat, put the bread dumpling dough formed into a flat cake. Cook at low temperature for about 1 hour.
