Instructions:

Grease fireproof dishes evenly with butter.

Remove the peel from the potatoes and cut into thin slices. The slices must be very thin, otherwise it does not taste good. I use a slicer, so it is quick and easy.

Place the potato slices in the mold in a brick shape (so that the bottom is covered). Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Spread finely chopped ham (strips) evenly on top.

Add another layer of potato slices. Season again and spread ham pieces evenly on top.

Cover with another layer of potato slices.

Mix milk and whipped cream and pour evenly over the top.

Grate or chop the cheese and sprinkle on the top layer of potatoes.

Place in the oven (200 °C) and cook for 1 to 1 1/2 hours until golden brown.
