A cake recipe for all foodies:

To begin, prepare a white bread dough (see ingredients).

Stir the yeast with a few drops of milk and sugar and leave at room temperature for a quarter of an hour. Then knead the flour with the rest of the ingredients and the yeast until you get a soft elastic dough.

Now let this dough rise at room temperature, in about 1/2 hour, until it almost doubles in size. Now knead it again on a floured board and form a roll. Divide this roll into 15 equal parts.

On each part, form a 30 cm long strand, a little thicker in the middle, tapered towards the ends, and form pretzels from it and leave from new for 15 -20 min.

Boil about 1 liter of water in an enamel pot and dissolve 3 tablespoons of Kaiser soda in it. Caution. The sodium bicarbonate will start to boil. Form the pretzels one by one on a slotted spoon for about 30 seconds in the boiling soda water, then drain and sprinkle with coarse salt.

When all the pretzels are cooked off, put them in the cold oven and bake at 220 °C until nicely browned (gas stove level 4). This takes a good quarter of an hour.
