For raspberry-cherry compote, wash and sort raspberries, also wash and pit cherries. Squeeze the lemon.

Put the cherries in a large pot, sprinkle with sugar and mix carefully. Add water, cherry juice, lemon juice and syrup and bring to a boil. Bring the cherries to a simmer for about 5 minutes, stir in the raspberries and simmer gently for another 3 minutes or so.

Raspberry-cherry compote is best served warm.
