Instructions:

A great cake recipe for any occasion:

1. ) Sift the flour into a large enough bowl and make a well. Mix the yeast together with a little sugar and milk, pour into the well and dust with flour. Let this dampfl rise for 15 minutes.

2. ) Later add the remaining ingredients for the dough, mix and knead well. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until the dough has doubled in size.

3. ) Grease the baking sheet. Roll out the dough to the thickness of a finger and place on the baking sheet.

4) For the topping, bring the milk and butter to the boil, stir in the semolina and cook on a gentle heat for 10 minutes.

5) Add poppy seeds, eggs, sugar, almond kernels and lemon zest.

6. ) Spread the semolina-poppy seed mixture on the dough and let everything rise together for another 15 min.

7. ) Preheat the oven to 200 °C. For the crumble, mix flour, sugar, butter, salt and cinnamon in a baking bowl and knead until crumbles form. Grind them into crumbs with your hands and spread them evenly on the cake. Bake everything in the oven for about 25 minutes.
