Instructions:

Peel the apples, remove the core and cut into wedges.

Boil water with sugar, spices and lemon juice and boil apples in it once.

Fill apple slices into prepared hot glasses with a perforated scoop.

Bring the cooking liquid to the boil once more. Mix in orange liqueur if desired and then pour over apples.

Using an eyedropper, drizzle a few drops of alcohol over the top, light and seal immediately.

For a longer shelf life, boil down in a preserving pot or steamer at 90 °C for an additional 30 minutes.
