For Styrian crostini, toast white bread or sandwich slices in a pan with plenty of not too hot oil or lard together with herbs to taste and garlic on both sides. Lift out, place on a rack or in a baking dish and top with apple or pear strips. Cover with oestrone and bake in the preheated oven at maximum top heat or under the grill coil on the middle shelf.
