Sunflower Bread

Instructions:

Mix the flours in a bowl and make a well in the center.

Crumble the yeast into this hollow and cover with a teaspoon of sugar. Pour the lukewarm water over it and dust a little flour into the well from the side.

Let the yeast rise until bubbles form.

Add the buttermilk, salt, lemon juice and bread spices and knead to a smooth dough. If necessary, add some more lukewarm water or flour.

Leave the dough in the bowl and let it rise, covered, in a warm place for about 1 hour.

Knead again, incorporating all but 2 tablespoons of the sunflower seeds.

Preheat the oven to 200 °C.

Shape the dough into a roll and place in a greased and floured loaf pan. Brush the top with water and press on the remaining sunflower seeds.

Bake the bread on the middle rack for the first 10 minutes at 200 °C, then reduce the temperature to 180 °C.

Bake the sunflower bread for a total of about one hour.
