A cake recipe for all foodies:

(*) preheat a 24 cm ø baking pan to 200 degrees.

Gently melt the sugar and caramelize it. Add butter in small pieces and pour on the spot into ovenproof dish (Jena glass, cast iron).

Remove the skin from the apples and core them. Cut apples into four pieces each and place upright in give. Roll out dough in a circle 4 cm larger in diameter than cake pan has. Place dough over apple and press down on inside edges of pan over fruit wedges. Bake in oven for 40 to 50 minutes.

Cover with a flat plate larger in diameter than the cake pan and turn out on the spot. Serve hot with vanilla ice cream or/and cream.
