Look forward to this fine asparagus recipe:

Remove the skin from the pears, cut them in half and cut out the core. Bring sugar, water and the juice of one lemon to the boil and cook the pear halves in it. Layer the pears in glasses and boil the syrup for a short time. Pour the green pepper over them and fill up the last quarter with pear brandy.

Close hot and swirl until the liquids are mixed.

These pears taste very good with ham and asparagus spears.
